These pictures where taken in October 1994 on the
occasion of the 45th Astronautical Congress, which was held in Jerusalem.
These are the first high-resolution images directly scanned in from color
negative film stripes using my new Nikon Coolscan IV ED slide and film
scanner. They have been processed by Nikon's Digital ICE (Image
Correction and Enhancement), Digital ROC (Restoration
of Color), and Digital GEM (Grain Equalization
and Management) photo retouch tools. Compare this quality to
the low resolution flat-bed scanner image to be found
here. In time, most of the images
to appear on this site will be of the above enhanced quality.
